Jupiter Jones was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people’s houses and an endless run of bad breaks. This is a really bad one. The story does not engage you at any point, you know what is to happen since it is so predictable and there is no special actions, score or unique special effects to save it. There are a few moments when the characters interact with each other on Earth that are actually a little bit more interesting than all the displayed when the effects kick off. Jupiter leads a pretty ordinary existence.
But she is besotted by the stars in the night sky, perhaps a legacy of her father who himself was an avid astronomer and astrophysicist. She tries to scrape together money to fund a telescope by selling her eggs. With its view that humans are unaware of the forces controlling their lives and suggestions of pansexuality, JUPITER ASCENDING is readily identifiable film.Their personal touch is responsible for the hokeyness that might make this film appear quaint and perhaps laughable at times.
